Chat, dice, and Roll Tables
Talk, whisper, roll server-owned dice, and post weighted Roll Table results.
Chat is one persistent stream for speech, rolls, notices, and mod cards. Switch the composer between Say and Roll, choose the audience, and send. A whisper uses the same recipient field as a hidden roll; privacy is not encoded inside the dice formula.
Dice expressions support arithmetic, parentheses, percentile dice, keep or drop, explosions, and
rerolls. For example, 2d20kh1+3 rolls two d20s, keeps the higher one, and adds three. The server
produces the faces and total, then projects the entry to its audience. Aether can animate that
authoritative result across the whole app, but the animation cannot choose or withhold the number.
Use /w, /hide, /me, and other commands from the slash menu rather than memorizing hidden
syntax. A sender can unsend their own spoken entry for ten seconds. The server rechecks both the
author and the time window.
#Choose how 3D dice appear
Open View → My Dice to preview your dice skins. Choose Use this set to apply a skin to every die, or pick skins individually for each die type.
Test roll previews the dice without posting anything to Chat.
Your equipped skins follow your account across worlds. Display settings such as which rolls appear, landing effects, sound, quality, and motion apply only to your current browser.
Hiding 3D dice does not hide the roll from Chat. If an equipped skin becomes unavailable, affected dice return to Aether Green.
#Roll Tables
Open Roll Tables to create weighted entries. Preview asks the server for a private result and keeps it off Chat until you choose Post. The preview expires, and posting rechecks table access.
In Chat, /table exact name or an unambiguous name prefix rolls immediately on the server and posts
the result. Ambiguous, hidden, empty, or invalid tables are refused without a public result. Entries
may include document references that resolve only for recipients allowed to read them.
Chat persists across reconnects and pages older entries as you scroll. Exporting a session writes only the entries already projected to the current reader.
