A tour of the interface
What each part of the screen does, and how to rearrange it.
The Aether window is made of panels. The map sits in the middle and everything else lives in panels you can move, resize, stack into tabs, or pop out into their own window.

- The menu bar. World, scene, and token actions
- The tool rail. Select, measure, draw, and reveal
- The map. Drag to pan, scroll to zoom, click a token to select it
- Your panels. Members, dice, and chat, stacked by default
#The map
The middle of the screen. Drag with the mouse to pan, scroll to zoom. Click a token to select it, then drag to move it. If a token has a coloured ring, someone else has it selected.
#The panels
The panels you get by default:
| Panel | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Chat | Messages and roll results |
| Dice | Roll buttons and a free-form roll box |
| Characters | The characters you can open |
| Members | Who is at the table right now |
#Rearranging your layout
Drag a panel by its tab to move it. Drop it on the edge of another panel to sit beside it, or on the middle to stack it as a tab. Your layout is yours: changing it does not affect anyone else at the table.
If you get into a mess, use Reset layout to go back to the default arrangement.
#Rolling dice
Type a roll into the dice panel using standard notation: 1d20, 2d6+3, or
4d6kh3 to keep the highest three of four dice. Results appear in chat where everyone
can see them.
