Invite players and join a table
Create an email-bound invite link, accept it with an account, and assign the player's character.
Hosted worlds use invite links tied to an email address and role. The link does not create a guest seat or bypass sign-in: its recipient accepts it with an Aether account.
#Invite a player
As the world owner or GM, open the world's Settings → Members & invites. Enter the player's email, choose player or co-GM, and create the invite. Aether stores it as pending and gives you a link to copy and share out of band. Email delivery is not built in.
You can revoke a pending invite before it is accepted. The create-world wizard can make the same pending invites and sends you to settings so you can copy their links.
#Accept and join
Open the link, then sign in or create the account whose email was invited. Choose Accept invite. The world appears under Your worlds and any pending notification disappears. A dead, revoked, or already used link shows an unavailable state instead of adding membership.
Choose Launch on the world. If it was asleep, keep the page open while Aether wakes it and opens the app.
#Assign the character
Inside Aether, the GM opens View → Members and assigns an actor to the player. Tokens representing that actor inherit effective ownership, so the player can control their own token without receiving every token. Assignment is separate from accepting the invite and can be changed or cleared later.
Once joined, open Library to find the assigned character and Table to see the active scene. Players do not receive GM annotations, GM-only Library pages, raw wall geometry, or tokens outside their server-computed vision.
If the world does not appear, confirm the accepted account email and see Connection and access.
