Run your first session

GM onlyDrive one complete table flow from player arrival to the end of the first combat round.

Verify player vision, show a handout, roll in Chat, and complete round one in Combat.

3 minute read

This guide uses The Shattered Meridian, The Fallen Observatory, Alice, Bob, and the page Night One: The Fallen Observatory to show the complete flow. In your own world, use the scene, players, and handout you prepared in the previous guide.

#Seat the players and verify sight

Ask Alice and Bob to open their accepted world and choose Join. Confirm each player sees the current room from their owned token, not the GM's unobscured map. Move through the closed doorway and check that strict darkness or dim exploration memory behaves as prepared.

#Show a handout during play

Choose the page

Open Library, choose Field Notes: The Meridian Lens, and select Night One: The Fallen Observatory.

Choose Show now

Choose Show now. Select Everyone at the table or Choose people. Read the access consequence beside the action before continuing: the audience determines who receives the presentation, while permissions determine who can keep reading the page.

Show the page

Choose Show page. Verify that the handout opens on both Alice's and Bob's screens.

Recover it from the Library

Ask Alice to close the presentation, then choose Open in the library from the handout or find the accessible page there later. Closing a presentation does not remove access to the handout.

Watch and stop the presentation

The GM presentation bar reports how many recipients dismissed it. After Alice closes it, verify 1 of 2 closed. Choose Stop showing when the table is finished with the page.

GM only
The Library’s Show a page to players control for Night One: The Fallen Observatory, with everyone or selected players available and the access consequence stated beside the action.
FigPresentation chooses who sees the page now; access controls whether they can return to it.
Any player
Night One: The Fallen Observatory presented on Lyra Vey’s screen, with controls to close it or open the retained handout in the Library.
FigA player can close the interruption without losing a handout they are allowed to read.

#Roll and enter combat

Open Chat, switch the composer to Roll, enter 1d20+3, and send it. The server produces the faces and total and adds the result to the shared conversation. This guide uses built-in Chat dice; it does not use Roll Tables. If Aether 3D Dice is installed and enabled, the first-party mod may animate that same authoritative result over the map.

Open Combat from View. If the scene does not already have an encounter, start one from the scene's cast, roll or enter initiative, and open it for players. Advance each turn until the round counter reaches round two. The result is a credible first-session loop: everyone joined, saw the right map, received material, rolled in public, and completed round one.

GM only
The Fallen Observatory ready for play, with Lyra Vey, Torren Ash, Sable Fen and Rowan Vale on the map and the open round-one Combat order beside it.
FigThe prepared cast and open round-one order keep the first scene and its turn state together.
