Scene Builder can now turn an image from the world's Asset Library into a named material. Preview it on a wall and floor, then use it across the room.

Make a material from an image

Open Scene Builder, choose Materials, then choose Create material. Pick a PNG, JPEG or WebP from the world's Asset Library, or upload one through the same flow. The picker shows the filename and dimensions before you save it as a material.

Give the material a name, then adjust its tint, rotation, tile width and height, roughness and metalness. The preview uses a wall and floor, with tile dimensions in scene units, so it shows how the material will look in Map and Tabletop.

Save it or paint selected surfaces

Save adds the material to the scene palette without changing a surface. Save and apply to selection adds it to the palette and paints the compatible selected floors, walls or opening frames. Cancel leaves the scene alone. An upload that finished before cancellation remains in the Asset Library for later use.

Edit, duplicate and replace

Materials can be edited, duplicated and applied independently. When a material is shared, Scene Builder shows how many surfaces will change before you save. A duplicate uses the same source image but gets its own name and values, so a floor can change without changing walls that use the original.

Unused materials can be removed after confirmation. If a material is still in use, choose a replacement and Scene Builder updates those surfaces together; if the replacement fails, the old material stays. A missing source image gets a named magenta fallback instead of silently using another texture.
